Apple pulls support for this popular MacBook Pro!

Ana sayfa / macOS

Apple continues to add its aging products to the vintage list. Devices included on this list do not receive software or security updates from the company. Apple is also officially ending its repair support. The new member of the vintage products is the 2017 MacBook Pro.

Goodbye to the 2017 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar

The 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro models with Touch Bar released in 2017 will no longer receive support from Apple. Along with these models, the 15-inch 2015 MacBook Pro is also included in the list of obsolete products. This means that the company will not provide repair or service.

Apple’s vintage list usually includes models that were released 5 years ago or more. So it’s not surprising that support for 2017 and 2015 MacBook Pros has been cut.

15-inch MacBook Air: A missed mark in Apple’s lineup?

Early reports suggest a lukewarm response to Apple's newly released 15-inch MacBook Air. Here are the details...

If you’re using a 2017 13-inch or 15-inch MacBook Pro, you won’t be able to get macOS 14 Sonoma, which will be available later this year. In fact, any Mac model from 2017 or earlier is incompatible with Sonoma. Apple will make the only exception for the iMac Pro, which debuted in 2017.

The Touch Bar, first introduced in 2016, is a design that Apple retired in 2021. Instead, the company switched to physical function keys. The 13-inch MacBook Pro is the only current model with a Touch Bar.

With the retirement of the 2017 models, Apple is preparing to introduce MacBook models with next-generation M3 processors.
